With personalized upgrade links, you can share a secure, custom webpage with each monthly donor.
When a donor clicks their unique link, they’ll see their current monthly gift and clear options to upgrade to a higher amount—no forms to fill out, just a quick confirmation.
In this guide, you’ll learn how to find and send these upgrade links to your recurring donors.
Find an upgrade link for a single recurring donation subscription
Upgrade links are listed on each recurring donation subscription if that donor is an active recurring giver.
- Log in to https://4agc.com as a Nonprofit User.
- Click Subscriptions in the main left-side menu.
- Find the subscription by using the search box. You can search by name or subscription ID.
- Click the row of the subscription.
- If the recurring subscription is active, you'll see a section on this page labeled Upgrade Link.
- Click the Copy icon to the right of the link to copy the URL to your clipboard.
- Paste it into an email or other communication to your recurring donor.
Download all the upgrade links for all active recurring donation subscriptions
- Log in to https://4agc.com as a Nonprofit User.
- Click Subscriptions in the main left-side menu.
- Click Active to filter the subscription by those that are active.
- Click the Download drop-down and choose your output format, CSV or Excel.
- You'll see the upgrade links in a column named Recurring Donation Upgrade Link.
Download upgrade links from your Contact records
- Log in to https://4agc.com as a Nonprofit User.
- Click Contacts in the main left-side menu.
- Filter your contact records by any search criteria you are interested in.
- Click Download CSV or Download Excel to pull your contact records into a spreadsheet.
- You'll see columns named Recurring Donation Upgrade Link, Recurring Donation Upgrade Link 2, and Recurring Donation Upgrade Link 3. These will hold the upgrade links for the first 3 active recurring donation subscriptions for each contact. 99% of contacts have less than 3 active recurring donations.
Find upgrade links in Mailchimp
For nonprofits using our Mailchimp integration, you'll find recurring upgrade links listed in contact records in your Mailchimp audience. This can be useful to merge into bulk emails for a recurring donor upgrade campaign.
The links will be listed for any contact that has an active recurring donation subscription.
You'll see columns named Recurring Donation Upgrade Link, Recurring Donation Upgrade Link 2, and Recurring Donation Upgrade Link 3. These will hold the upgrade links for the first 3 active recurring donation subscriptions for each contact. 99% of contacts have less than 3 active recurring donations.
Notes
- The donor is presented with 3 preloaded options to upgrade. These represent a 25% increase in their recurring gift, a 33% increase, and a 50% increase. These amounts are rounded up to the next whole dollar amount. There is an Other option to allow them to upgrade any amount.
- After confirming the upgrade, the amount on the subscription is updated. The new donation amount will be charged on the next scheduled payment. The donor and the nonprofit get an alert confirming the update.
