If your donors see "Error Code 153" or "Error Code 156" when attempting to donate it typically means your Authorize.net account is not set up correctly to accept Google Pay or Apple Pay transactions.
To accept digital wallet payments through Authorize.net your Authorize.net account must be connected to a supported processor and have its Market Type flagged as an "eCommerce" account.
To resolve this follow the steps below.
1. Find your processor on Authorize.net
- Sign in to the Authorize.net Merchant Interface.
- Select Account from the main toolbar.
- Choose Merchant Profile from the menu on the left.
- Under the Payment Methods section, the Processor name will be listed
Supported processors on Authorize.net
FDCN, Chase Paymentech, Global Payments North America, TSYS, and NABEPX are currently supported.
If your processor is not one of the ones listed above you are not currently eligible to accept Google Pay or Apple Pay. Please contact us at support@4agoodcause.com for information on switching to a supported processor.
2. Find your Market Type on Authorize.net
- Sign in to the Authorize.net Merchant Interface.
- Select Account from the main toolbar.
- Choose Merchant Profile from the menu on the left.
- Under the Business Information section, the Market Type will be listed.
If your market type does not show "eCommerce" (it might say MOTO for example) then ask Authorize.net support to switch it for you.
